Girl?

HIDING HER BITS & PIECES
I literally got Dr. off the tennis court on Friday, to give me another scan.

While still sweating and drinking his OJ, he searched and searched and would you believe it - the little sucker was still curled up like Dinky. Anyway, he looked and looked and said that he can't see a penis or testes, so he is gonna say GIRL again, but will confirm in 2 weeks.

If peanut comes out a boy, he is so gonna be wearing PINK!

SUSHI & TACOS
This weekend was nice. I got to eat sushi in Belize city (without the raw fish), and then tacos in Chetumal. The tacos were guuuuud, with all the salsas and guacamole. I hope that we can go again before it's too uncomfy for me to travel. Oh, and this weekend Peanut's dad finally got a haircut, so all was right with the world. With the new haircut came a bright and happy new mood for me, and I stayed that way all weekend.

FROG TOWEL!
In Chetumal we were looking at the baby supplies, and I came across a hooded teddybear towel...then a duckie towel. I said to Jaime, the only thing better would be a FROG towel. Lo and behold, they had one!! Of course I bought it immediately.

MOVING & ANNOYING HABITS
Peanut's dad is on holiday this week, and using the time to move in. This time will show whether or not we can live together or murder each other. He has this annoying habit of always wanting to eat what I'm eating, even if he has just finished eating himself. He's lucky he's so cute or it would bug me more. Now I have to deal with dogs AND men begging for food, ayayay. If he doesn't watch out, he'll end up looking like this and I'll have to make a pigpen outside for him and replace his plate with a trough.

1 Week Less Pregnant

Here's the peanut at 21/22/23 weeks. Based on the size, Doc thinks I am around 22 weeks pregnant, but who knows!!! She (he?) is all curled up like my mom's dog Dinky with the private bits secure and hidden. GRR. My mom is harassing me to have another ultrasound as soon as possible because she's desperate to know the sex. I wonder who peanut will look like?

FLOCK OF SEAGULLS
I wouldn't worry too much peanut. Your cousins came out cute, despite genetics.

My first kid was a fur kid

Techie's been with me 8 years now... I keep telling him that peanut won't be a boy because HE's my best boy. I can't wait to take pics of the baby sleeping next to him, and then later, pics of a toddler tormenting him hehe. Poor Techie doesn't know what he's in for!

P.S. the scars on his nose are from fighting, I guess, when he was missing for 5 days.
P.P.S. Note my nice pregnancy acne. Nobody tells you that you get your high school complexion back when you're pregnant!

Tropical storms, boobs, butt and baby supplies

TROPICAL STORM
What a rainy weekend! It rained non-stop from Friday to Monday (tropical storm Arthur), causing serious flooding in the south. This is highly unusual for Belize, so everyone was caught off guard. In Belmopan it didn't really affect me, but the bridge that we have to cross in order to get to work was flooded and we had to go the long way around. It took 2 hours to get there on a really bumpy road, and I was holding on to the peanut the entire way. Hopefully the weather will get better, but the satellite images aren't very encouraging. I'm off work today so that I don't have to take peanut on that road again.

BOOBS
My boobs broke a zipper on a blouse yesterday morning. The blouse had always been a bit fitted, but wow it was TIGHT when I tried it on, and when I tried to zip it, the thing popped hehehehe. COOL. I won't complain, because I don't know how long I'll have such excellent boobage. (See pose: right)

BUTT
My bum is widening faster than my belly. I swear, my peanut is living in my butt cheeks not my uterus. Mam says that a big butt and legs means that I'm having a girl. Can you believe I'll be 6 months in 2 weeks? I'm still waiting for my belly to really pop.

SUPPLIES
I got a really neat infant support pillow the other day - a "Boppy" as well as a head support for peanut in the stroller or carseat, a fluffy ducky fleece blanky, and some other bits and pieces (as well as some snowman pjs for me - just because!)

Hello, hello!

TECHIE'S GREAT ESCAPE
Hi folks! Sorry it's been a while since I've posted anything. I've had an awful week because my first baby, my doggy baby, ran away and he was lost for 5 days. I was soooo sad and miserable. I couldn't sleep (sorry peanut) and had really begun to think the worst when I finally got the call that he was found. Anyway, all is well now and my family is complete again, yeaaaay!!! Happy days. If you want to read the exciting saga of Techie's great escape to a posh resort in the jungle (ay ay ay), you can visit his blog. I am now free to enjoy my pregnancy again!!

(ORCHESTRAL?) MANEUVERS IN THE DARK
Peanut has started moving about quite a bit at night. Sometimes it's quite startling, but generally just feels like there is an alien presence within, hehe. Peanut's dad managed to feel it when peanut gave my uterus a particularly good wallop the other night. It's exciting to feel that it's really there and that I'm really pregnant, because sometimes i just feel fat :-)

Peanut in the Jungle - II

On a hot Saturday, Peanut's dad decided to treat me to a trip to the Blue Hole, which is an area where the river runs through a cave and it's really cold. Next time we should take swimming gear! (Luckily I was wearing a skirt, so I could paddle).

Please note the increasing boobage, which I am very proud of. That's an un-padded bra people!!!

Ok, so this is a less flattering image of what pregnancy's doing to me, and more specifically my ass!
That's okay, because peanut's dad's is about the same size as mine, and he's not pregnant.
We spent a nice time paddling our toes in the water, feeding the fish cookie bars and watching the birds fly about overhead. This pic (above) is peanut's dad undressing in the jungle, changing into shorts so he can paddle. Next time we go I'm wearing a bikini!!! (just the top haha - I wouldn't want to scare the wildlife).

Peanut @ 19 Weeks....and tentatively a GIRL!

Almost 5 months pregnant!! Peanut's 19 week scan was yesterday, and all is well so far. I've gained 3.3lbs in the last 4 weeks, so that's not too bad. Blood pressure is normal, and everything else seems fine. The baby's heart was ticking nicely and he/she was sleeping and twitching. I made peanut's dad have his blood pressure taken, and his is fine too so I know I'm not stressing him out too much hehe.

Doc looked at the baby's bits and pieces and couldn't find a willy, so he says it is very likely a GIRL but that we will have to confirm at the next visit in 4 weeks. Still, exciting to know what it MIGHT be :-) Don't all go buying pink yet! :-)

P.S. I have NO CLUE what the scan is showing...head? Legs? Butt? hehe
