Happy Smiles

Mia went for a CT scan yesterday (will post the scan when the batteries charge). It was really scary for mum and dad, since they had to sedate her. She fought sleep (no surprise there) and struggled, but mum managed to hold it together while dad looked as green as seaweed.

The technicians told us that it looks like it's just an immature trachea that collapses when she breathes, causing that little whistle noise. It fixes it self as the baby grows. However, we still have to take the scan to the pediatrician for confirmation of diagnosis.

They were going to do a detailed high-res scan, but I told them that granny had a severe reaction to the scan solution that they make you drink, so they opted not to give it to baby just in case. Luckily they were able to see what they needed with the regular scan.

And luckily for MEEEE, daddy saved like $300 on the scan since it was a regular one, and he bought me a beautiful ring! He had planned to get it for Valentine's Day, but the stores were closed when we got to the city. Anyway, it's white gold with .25C small diamonds around it and I'm wearing it on the finger adjacent to the ring finger on my left hand. It's symbolic that once engaged, the ring jumps to the next finger. We looked at engagement rings too, since we were there, and there was a pretty one that was a good deal, but the diamond was princess cut (square) and we both agree that a solitaire would be cuter.

So after all the stress and worry it ended up being a good day, and hopefully the Dr. will confirm Mia's good health :-)

Comic Relief

I'm feeling sad, so here's some funnies to make me feel better. I was changing little corntortilla and her onesie got stuck on her noggin.

She looks like Princess Lea, if Princess Lea had sleeves on the sides of her head instead of doughnuts.

Also...

Also, adding to my frown is the fact that Mia has to get a CT scan. I took her to the pediatrician yesterday for a checkup, and told Doc that I was concerned because her head is slightly tilted and she breathes loudly. Sooo, Doc says I need to take her for a CT scan. It could be immature cartilage of the trachea which fixes itself, but Doc wants to make sure.

AYAYAYAYAY X5

I'm sad today

I'm sad today because my Techie is very sick with liver issues caused by him eating things he flipping shouldn't! He's at the vet right now on a drip :-(

I'm going to cheer myself up by posting photos from yesterday's Valentine "date" with Jaime in Belize City.

Sunday in the garden with Techie while he poos

Techie's been escaping lately, so I decided to take Mia out in the garden this morning while he did his bidnaz. We walked all around the garden but once we reached the back it started to drizzle a little, so uh ohhh we had to roll back inside with Techie leading the way (he hates the rain and didn't read the dog book that says labs are supposed to love water).

P.s. Mia is wearing her bunny hat and kittycat warmies because it's "cold" here today. I looked at my grasshopper thermometer and it says 71!! Quick Jaime, get out your woolies!

Escabeche day at Tia G's

Granny visited for the weekend. Look how big Mia is getting.

Tia G. is still rocking her Christmas socks (with sandals).

Sleepy Mia wants her swing...

Happy Mia rocking away...

Shhh

Craft night at Tia Gladys...

While the ladies cut and glitzed plastic coke bottles, mam drank coffee and watched them while Mia snoozed off in her snazzy self-rocking swing from cousin Marielena.
