Belly at 7 Months

Morning! It's not even 6 a.m. yet, and I'm wide awake (having sent Jaime off to work), so I thought I'd add a few belleh pics since it's looking more impressive these days.

As you can see, it's much more rotund now than it has ever been. Thankfully, I don't have any stretch marks yet, but my belly button is no longer the deep innie I've gotten so attached to (no pun intended).

Look! It's slowly flattening out, and I imagine it will be completely flat in the next 2 months. It could be worse - if I had an outie I'd have a third nipple poking out when I wear fitted shirts and THAT would be weird. I think I would have taped it down :-)

And finally, check out what I have to deal with when I shower (I took this picture from the bathtub). 2 Furry creatures insist on watching and waiting for me; maybe they like the sound of the water or the smell of the soap, because when I get out to dry myself they lose interest (shut up Julian, whatever comment was running through your head). I wonder if they'll want to watch me bathing peanut...

2 more weeks to go till the England gang gets here. 2 more months till "TIA MARIA" woo! (TIO JULIAN hehehe). Jaime just made me realize last night, that my baby may one day be a "TIA MIA" hehehe. Ay ay ay.

Next Dr. visit is the 7th August. I had a dream that Jaime went to adopt a girl and came home with a boy instead, so I hope this doesn't mean we'll see a winkie or Grandma will throw a fit. I think I would find it highly amusing and not care either way. Boys can wear pink nowadays anyway heheh :-)

Still a girl!

I had my latest Dr. visit on Wednesday, and he claimed to have a better view of peanut's nether regions and still says she's a girl :-) Apparently she's still in a seated breech position, so she better get her buns moving. My co-worker says that she has no sense of direction like her mom :-\

So Jaime's been here for a week and it's been good so far. The only thing is that I've been having mood swings, where little issues seem like huge deals to me. So far my office chair broke, perfume broke, fan got wobbly, gate broke and dogs ran out. I reacted to each one 100X worse than usual, but Jaime is very patient and sweet and it's my policy to always say sorry if I know I was a beewax for no reason. Jaime's been a trooper and I especially appreciate the dishwashing!! Here is a pic of my current mood (scowly). Peanut, that is we will look at you when you're naughty and you shall quake in your bunny slippers and immediately cease your actions.

WTF? Giant Water Beetle!

Last night around 9pm, Jaime and I were sitting on the sofa and he had a plate on a pillow resting on his lap, getting ready to eat. Suddenly I saw this huuuuge bug sitting on the pillow with claws raised up over the plate and I squeaked!!! Now, I'm not afraid of insects but this sucker was the size of my hand (no exaggeration) and had mean-looking pincer legs.

He shook it out on the outside veranda, where I took some pics (of course). I thought it looked like a huge water bug, and after Googling this morning, I was right - a GIANT water beetle. Apparently they can give a mean sting!! Good thing I noticed it in time before it stung Jaime, or even worse MEEEE!!! As Malena would have said..."that's life in the tropics." :-)

Be sure to click the photo to see just how mean it really looks. I think I'll call it Ripley. He (she) is still in the garden somewhere.

Girl?

HIDING HER BITS & PIECES
I literally got Dr. off the tennis court on Friday, to give me another scan.

While still sweating and drinking his OJ, he searched and searched and would you believe it - the little sucker was still curled up like Dinky. Anyway, he looked and looked and said that he can't see a penis or testes, so he is gonna say GIRL again, but will confirm in 2 weeks.

If peanut comes out a boy, he is so gonna be wearing PINK!

SUSHI & TACOS
This weekend was nice. I got to eat sushi in Belize city (without the raw fish), and then tacos in Chetumal. The tacos were guuuuud, with all the salsas and guacamole. I hope that we can go again before it's too uncomfy for me to travel. Oh, and this weekend Peanut's dad finally got a haircut, so all was right with the world. With the new haircut came a bright and happy new mood for me, and I stayed that way all weekend.

FROG TOWEL!
In Chetumal we were looking at the baby supplies, and I came across a hooded teddybear towel...then a duckie towel. I said to Jaime, the only thing better would be a FROG towel. Lo and behold, they had one!! Of course I bought it immediately.

MOVING & ANNOYING HABITS
Peanut's dad is on holiday this week, and using the time to move in. This time will show whether or not we can live together or murder each other. He has this annoying habit of always wanting to eat what I'm eating, even if he has just finished eating himself. He's lucky he's so cute or it would bug me more. Now I have to deal with dogs AND men begging for food, ayayay. If he doesn't watch out, he'll end up looking like this and I'll have to make a pigpen outside for him and replace his plate with a trough.

1 Week Less Pregnant

Here's the peanut at 21/22/23 weeks. Based on the size, Doc thinks I am around 22 weeks pregnant, but who knows!!! She (he?) is all curled up like my mom's dog Dinky with the private bits secure and hidden. GRR. My mom is harassing me to have another ultrasound as soon as possible because she's desperate to know the sex. I wonder who peanut will look like?

FLOCK OF SEAGULLS
I wouldn't worry too much peanut. Your cousins came out cute, despite genetics.

My first kid was a fur kid

Techie's been with me 8 years now... I keep telling him that peanut won't be a boy because HE's my best boy. I can't wait to take pics of the baby sleeping next to him, and then later, pics of a toddler tormenting him hehe. Poor Techie doesn't know what he's in for!

P.S. the scars on his nose are from fighting, I guess, when he was missing for 5 days.
P.P.S. Note my nice pregnancy acne. Nobody tells you that you get your high school complexion back when you're pregnant!

Tropical storms, boobs, butt and baby supplies

TROPICAL STORM
What a rainy weekend! It rained non-stop from Friday to Monday (tropical storm Arthur), causing serious flooding in the south. This is highly unusual for Belize, so everyone was caught off guard. In Belmopan it didn't really affect me, but the bridge that we have to cross in order to get to work was flooded and we had to go the long way around. It took 2 hours to get there on a really bumpy road, and I was holding on to the peanut the entire way. Hopefully the weather will get better, but the satellite images aren't very encouraging. I'm off work today so that I don't have to take peanut on that road again.

BOOBS
My boobs broke a zipper on a blouse yesterday morning. The blouse had always been a bit fitted, but wow it was TIGHT when I tried it on, and when I tried to zip it, the thing popped hehehehe. COOL. I won't complain, because I don't know how long I'll have such excellent boobage. (See pose: right)

BUTT
My bum is widening faster than my belly. I swear, my peanut is living in my butt cheeks not my uterus. Mam says that a big butt and legs means that I'm having a girl. Can you believe I'll be 6 months in 2 weeks? I'm still waiting for my belly to really pop.

SUPPLIES
I got a really neat infant support pillow the other day - a "Boppy" as well as a head support for peanut in the stroller or carseat, a fluffy ducky fleece blanky, and some other bits and pieces (as well as some snowman pjs for me - just because!)
